Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
As per these modern times, a dating app!
How did he put a ring on it?
We were hiking in the beautiful Waimea Canyon in Hawaii. We had found a nice spot overlooking the canyon to take a break and attempt a photo together. Dylan set up the camera with a self-timer (since we were alone) while I sat on a fallen tree. He jogged back to our spot and when I turned to look at him for the photo, he had the ring out. I don’t think I spoke for a few minutes. But the photo snapped at the perfect time and we’ll always have that intimate and authentic moment on film.
Where did you draw inspiration from?
All things outdoorsy. I wanted my bouquet to look like we had picked wildflowers from the mountainside. Our wedding cake resembled a birch tree with our carved initials. Wandering Weddings was a great source.
What made the wedding personal to you?
Our exceptionally small guest list, the most beautiful backdrop and having one of our best friends officiate. We also had our music sung and recorded by good friends and we played that as I walked down the mountain “aisle” with my Father.
What were you most nervous or excited about?
The weather! We had to take a helicopter to our ceremony spot and it was pouring the morning of the day.
Now, the most important part – the Dress!
Tell us about your dress?
I chose the stunning Montgomery. It was one of the first dresses I tried on and I found my way back to it in the end. I love the flattering silhouette and the unique lace. I ended up making Christmas ornaments with the leftover lace because I adored it so much. We also had a more casual gathering 3 weeks after our ceremony so I was lucky enough to get to wear my dress twice.
What stockist did you get it from?
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
Dancing, running and shooting near a waterfall. We got soaked but we love an adventure. And the moment I said “I do” to my best friend, of course.
