Of her Farrow gown, Kate said “It was just the most perfect blend of unique and fun boho lace, while maintaining a very elegant, fitted silhouette. I had no idea a dress like this even existed, I knew it was the one the second I tried it on. “

Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
Kate’s best friend Kristina met Brad at a running club, and just knew they had to meet. After a series of text messages back and forth between her and Brad, she sneakily arranged for him to come over to her house on a Sunday evening when Kate was there. A few days later, Kristina and her husband had both of us over for dinner (by headlamp, because they had just moved into a new house and didn’t have lighting in the dining room!), and after that, dates were no longer forced on us and we began seeing each other by our own free will!
How did he put a ring on it?
We were mountain biking in fall in Crested Butte, Colorado, and it was just so beautiful so we stopped to take a photo. He had me set up the bikes while he was setting up his phone to snap a pic, and when I thought I was posing just to take a photo with him, he dropped down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! (at the perfect time, by the way, because the photo was captured perfectly with a phone self timer!) I was completely caught off guard. It was the perfect surprise in my favorite place.
Where did you draw inspiration from?
I kind of learned as I went with the wedding planning process! We were very set on having a wedding in cooler weather, so it had to be in the fall. We both love the mountains and spending time in nature, so we tried to center it around that.
What made the wedding personal to you?
We met and lived in Colorado for several years, and now live in Cincinnati. We decided to go back to Colorado for the wedding so we could share with them our love for our old home, and help them have a fun weekend doing some of the very same things that brought us together 4 years ago.
What were you most nervous or excited about?
This was a very nerve wracking year to try to plan a wedding, as everyone is well aware! We would get so nervous to try to make any plans for the wedding, as things kept changing and we never knew if any effort put out there would even be worth it. We decided we were going to get married on our original date, no matter what that meant we had to do, or who would be allowed to be there. Finally, we just cut about 2/3 of our guest list down, and just went for it. After the long year with lots of isolation, we were most excited to be able to spend time celebrating with our closest friends and family for the first time in a very long time. And obviously to make it to the finish line, and actually be married!
Now, the most important part – the Dress!
Tell us about your dress?
I wore the Farrow dress. It was just the most perfect blend of unique and fun boho lace, while maintaining a very elegant, fitted silhouette. I had no idea a dress like this even existed, I knew it was the one the second I tried it on. I could not have been happier with it!
What stockist did you get it from?
Lovely Bride, Cincinnati
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
Definitely our first look. Everything else after the first look just went so fast, it was wonderful but kind of a blur. Our photographer Sarah really helped us pick the most beautiful overlook, and we spent a better part of an hour just to slow down, take it all in and just have some special time to spend with just each other (and the dogs!) before the party started.
