Faith & Jadan’s Wedding

We just wanted a wedding that represented who we are and treated our guests to all of our favorite things.

Of her Dawson gown, Faith said “I had seen the Dawson gown on Pinterest probably a year before I was even engaged and had fallen in love with it. I tried on lots of dresses and liked many of them, but I knew that I needed to try on the Dawson before I could pick one. I had to call all over to find a stockist in Southern California that had it. When I did try it on, I knew immediately it was the one! I wanted a simple gown with a little something to make it unique and the Dawson was exactly that.

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

Jadan and I went to high school together! We became best friends our junior year. We started dating the year after we had graduated.

How did he put a ring on it?

We had taken our van camping at San Onofre State Beach for the weekend. We were on the beach for a sunset walk with our dog when he got down on one knee. It was perfectly warm and the waves were crashing on the rocky shore. I will never forget it!

Where did you draw inspiration from?

We just wanted a wedding that represented who we are and treated our guests to all of our favorite things. Jadan and I were born, raised, and hope to stay in San Diego. We love the lifestyle here and wanted to share it with our loved ones. We had tacos and margaritas. Our flowers were tropical to pay homage to Jadan’s love of surfing. The venue was tucked away on a mountaintop that looked west toward home. Our first dance was to a Van Morrison song covered by Zac Brown Band. We are causal people and like to keep things simple so we kept that in mind when planning.

What made the wedding personal to you?

So many things! We cut down our guest list by about a hundred people so that we could celebrate safely, and although it had initially felt disappointing, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was so special to have the people we knew best there, and the chance to spend time with each of them. It was so intimate. We got married just down the road from some of our favorite spots to camp, so it felt like home. Our beloved cat and dog were also there in spirit-their faces were on the cocktail napkins, my jacket, and the pin party favors!

What were you most nervous or excited about?

I am admittedly a perfectionist so I was definitely nervous about how every little detail would come together after fourteen months of planning. But I was also just so excited to be married to Jadan. We had been together for almost eight years by the time we got married, and I had never doubted he was who I wanted to spend my life with. It was so exciting to start a new chapter together with the support of the people we love most, and knew that that was all that really mattered!

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

I had seen the Dawson gown on Pinterest probably a year before I was even engaged and had fallen in love with it.

What stockist did you get it from?

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

The ceremony. I had expected it to be nice, but could never have imagined how special it would truly be to say “I do” in front of our favorite people. My cousin married us and we all cried. There just aren’t words!
