Sammy and Alejandro’s romantic wedding in Costa Rica perfectly captured a dreamy, bohemian beach wedding vibe.
When Sammy laid her eyes on our whimsical Ramone gown, she knew that her bohemian wedding dress dreams had come true. Of her Ramone gown, Sammy said: “What can I say? It was love at first sight. I actually came across the dress on Pinterest. I pinned it and thought, “I’m going to try to find something like this… this is SO me.” After going dress shopping for the first time with my girlfriends, nothing excited me. Nothing stood out or screamed Sammy. So, after countless searches of other dresses, I decided to track down THE dress. After I found out the dress was made by Tara Lauren, I reached out through the site directly to track it down and had it sent to Lovely Bride Seattle. I went by myself, tried on the dress and that was it. 1,000% Sammy. Without hesitation, I said yes.”

Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
Alejandro and I met at a college soccer party — Alejandro was already in college and on the soccer team, while I was still in high school as a recruit. I was at the party with a friend who mentioned that she just started talking to a guy and wanted me to meet him. From across the room, she pointed Alejandro out and asked me if I thought he was cute. You could probably guess my answer…(a big yes!) After we were introduced, Alejandro and I talked for hours. We had to keep reminding ourselves to get back to the party!
How did he put a ring on it?
I told Alejandro that when he proposed, I wanted 3 things: my nails done, my family and friends there to celebrate, and a photographer to capture the moment. He nailed all three! It was the weekend of a good friend’s wedding that brought all of our close friends to the same city. Alejandro told me he was going to meet up with the guys to do groomsmen things so my girlfriend and I went to a beautiful conservatory…little did I know that’s where Alejandro had actually been going as well. He showed up out of nowhere and my first response was, “What are you doing here?”. Mid- sentence, I caught a glimpse of someone with a camera and when I looked back, he was on one knee. He opened the ring case and barely managed to squeeze out the words “I love you, will you marry me?”. The surprises didn’t stop there. He was able to coordinate and get my family to surprise me when we arrived at dinner. Like I said, he nailed it.
Where did you draw inspiration from?
As far as location, Alejandro and I had always dreamed about getting married on the beach. Costa Rica was an easy decision for us because his family is from there and he still calls it his second home…not to mention how beautiful it is! When it came down to the style and decor, I always imagined a boho beach vibe — pinks and neutrals, fresh and dry flowers with some natural greenery. Let’s just say my wedding inspo Pinterest board definitely wasn’t created over night!
What made the wedding personal to you?
Everything! We didn’t stick to a lot of traditional wedding things — My brother was my Man of Honor; Alejandro and I spent the night together before our wedding day. He even ATV’d me over to the venue to get ready and it was such a cool feeling riding together through the fresh beach air knowing that we’d be getting married in a few hours. The venue also wasn’t really a venue, it was a privately owned home, perfectly located on the beach, where Alejandro, myself and the wedding party also stayed. I put so much thought into the details of this day and nothing felt more personal than seeing my vision come to life!
What were you most nervous or excited about?
I truly was just so excited to marry my best friend and see the hard work that we put into our wedding day come to life!
Now, the most important part – the Dress!

What stockist did you get it from?
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
That’s such a tough question to answer as the whole day was so special. But I would have to go with our ceremony and reading our vows. It was truly a perfect moment.
