Bethany and Casey’s wedding venue was transformed into a lush, green oasis which perfectly encapsulated their evergreen love.
As soon as Bethany met the Flor gown, she knew her wedding dress search was over. Here’s what Bethany loved about her Flor gown: “As soon as I tried it on, I knew the Flor gown was the one! I loved how fresh and whimsical the tulle was and the draping floral lace was completely swoon-worthy. The A-line fit was so flattering on my curvy figure, and the long train brought such a regal look to the whimsical tulle and floral lace! It had the perfect combination of formality and fun that I was looking for in my wedding dress.”

Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
Casey and I were acquaintances for about two years before there was any romance between us. One night in January 2019, I had a group of friends hanging out at my apartment, and Casey was one of them. When everyone was leaving, I went out with them to check my mailbox and low and behold, Casey stayed with me and asked if I wanted to get breakfast with him one Sunday. From that very first date, Casey and I knew that what we had was different than anything we had ever experienced before.
How did he put a ring on it?
Casey and I got engaged in the middle of quarantine, so that put quite a fun spin on our engagement. It was around Easter in 2019 when he asked me to go on an Easter egg hunt date with him, which I thought was incredibly sweet. I was so caught up having such a wonderful time on our date, so I was completely surprised when next thing I know, he’s holding a golden easter egg with an engagement ring inside! Little did I know that he had been completely frazzled the previous week because of COVID delays with the ring. But it couldn’t have been more perfect!
Where did you draw inspiration from?
We wanted to achieve a simple and rustic wedding vibe, so the very first decision we made was the venue. Every aspect of wedding planning after that decision was centered around the perfect simplicity of our venue. We wanted to incorporate as much lush greenery and earthy white tones into the day as possible. I adore the idea of greenery upon greenery, and my florist took my vision and ran with it so beautifully. For our winter wedding, I wanted to keep the color scheme subtle so my bridesmaids dresses wore emerald green velvet, as I felt that the texture and colors were super winteresque and contrasted well with white!
What made the wedding personal to you?
Our wedding was made personal by our friends and family that attended, especially given how chaotic and scary 2020 had been for a lot of people. I wanted our wedding to be a moment of joy in the midst of a lot of uncertainty and craziness, and it was so uniquely personal because of that. We were completely delighted to have all of our people in one place.
What were you most nervous or excited about?
I was most nervous about the DETAILS! I am a strong believer in the big picture and trusting the process, so once my wedding day came, I realized that there were so many moving parts that I simply could not control. Of course, everything went better than I could have ever imagined, so my worry was really for nothing.
I was most excited about seeing every single small decision over the course of 8 months come to fruition. The flowers, chairs, table arrangements, my gown, my hair and makeup, the bridesmaids dresses, the suit and ties…all of it!
Now, the most important part – the Dress!
Tell us about your dress?
Even when I was in high school looking for a prom dress, I was never the girl who went to 10 different shops and tried on 100 dresses. For my wedding dress, it was the same exact way! I went to one shop, tried on 5 or 6 dresses, and knew from the get-go that Flor was the one! I loved how fresh and whimsical the tulle was, and the draping floral lace was completely swoon-worthy. The A-line fit was so flattering on my curvy figure, and the long train brought such a regal look to the whimsical tulle and floral lace! It had the perfect combination of formality and fun that I was looking for in my wedding dress.
What stockist did you get it from?
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
My most memorable moment from the day was the moment that Casey and I saw each other for the first time. You always see pictures of other people’s first looks and wonder what it’ll be like for you, but nothing compares to the real thing. From that moment on, I’ve gotten to see Casey look at me that way every day!
