Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
David and I️ actually both worked at the same company but had never met. When we matched online in October 2016, we recognized each other immediately because in the months leading up to that, I would run every lunch and David would walk with a friend to a nearby coffee shop. We’d pass each other on the sidewalk so when we matched it was like “you’re the girl who runs/guy who walks”. Little did David know that he would soon have to start running with me at lunch!
How did he put a ring on it?
David was originally planning to surprise me by proposing at the end of one of the first hikes we did together out at the Oregon coast. He had a two night trip planned and was giving me very few details so I had a hunch that’s what he was planning. He knew I was on to him and so decided to really surprise me and proposed the Wednesday before that trip after a lovely evening we had together. It was perfect and intimate, and then we were able to still go on our trip as a sort of engagement-moon!
Where did you draw inspiration from?
One of the few things we knew going into our wedding planning process was that we wanted lots of greenery and floral all around. Due to COVID, we actually had to change our venue and were lucky enough to find The Blockhouse which is located within a working nursery. We also wanted a classically romantic yet modern vibe. Neither David nor I are very good with the whole styling thing so luckily we had a team of fantastic vendors that helped our day turn out absolutely perfect!
What made the wedding personal to you?
The wedding was the first time a lot of our friends and family were meeting each other which was a big deal for me! We are both from different parts of Southern California and our siblings and friends from home had never met. We were originally supposed to get married in August 2020 but postponed due to COVID. I am so glad we did because ultimately we were able to have 50 of our closest friends and family be there with us. Also, we got to have our adorable corgi, Simba, be a part of the ceremony which was perfect!
What were you most nervous or excited about?
I was equally the most nervous and most excited for our first look! We got extremely lucky and had a perfectly clear and warm day in Portland in March which never happens. We had our first look on the rooftop of the hotel we stayed at and decided to read each other our vows there privately as opposed to at the ceremony. I was nervous to read David mine but excited to hear his! I was also excited for him to see me for the first time in my dress because I knew he’d be blown away.
Now, the most important part – the Dress!

What stockist did you get it from?
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
For me, it was seeing David at the end of the aisle. Even though we had already seen each other at our first look, it was amazing to see everything come together so perfectly and such a special moment for us. Second to that was having our corgi, Simba, wandering around the reception freely, getting pets and begging for food, and even sneaking into the kitchen a few times!
