Danielle & Mark’s Wedding

After a year of postponements, Danielle & Mark said “I do” surrounded by the lush Columbia Woodlands, and their closest family and friends.

Danielle’s favourite thing about her Tara Lauren gown was being able to have two looks for her wedding day! Of her MONTGOMERY gown, Danielle said: “I couldn’t decide what kind of dress I wanted, until I tried on the MONTGOMERY gown and overskirt, which truly had it all! As soon as I tried it on, I fell in love with it, and the fact that I could have two looks for my wedding day. I loved wearing the MONTGOMERY gown with the overskirt for the ceremony and surprising guests at the reception when I took it off and had just the gown!”

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

We met at Ohio State when a mutual friend set us up as blind dates for a party through our sorority and fraternity. We danced the night away, remained close friends and started dating about a year later!

How did he put a ring on it?

I flew out to San Diego with my family to visit my sister who lives there. Little did I know, Mark secretly flew out to San Diego as well to propose! We went to Sunset Cliffs to take family pictures, and my sister insisted on a specific location. Much to my surprise, Mark was on a rock waiting for us, and when he turned around, my jaw dropped! He proposed on the cliffs overlooking a beautiful sunset, and I have never been more surprised in my life. He flew his parents out as well and we all got to vacation together for the rest of the week!

Where did you draw inspiration from?

I used Pinterest for a lot of wedding inspiration, and we also drew a lot of inspiration from the look and feel of our venue. I really loved the dusty rose and burgundy color scheme which fit perfectly with Columbia Woodlands!

What made the wedding personal to you?

After having to postpone our wedding from June 2020 to June 2021 due to COVID, we were just so excited to have all of the people we love in one place! We wanted to spend as much time with everyone as we could so we decided to do a Welcome Party on Friday evening. It was so great to get the opportunity to see everyone before the big day! My dad made an amazing champagne wall so that guests could enjoy champagne during the ceremony. We had chocolate buckeyes at the table made by Mark’s mom since we both went to Ohio State. Our venue was a 400 acre property with glamping tents and cabins. We have stayed at Columbia Woodlands many times and were so excited to have our family and friends stay on the property with us to experience it!

What were you most nervous or excited about?

I think that we were just so excited that we were finally getting married, and we were truly looking forward to every single moment. I was so excited about the first look with Mark! Seeing him for the first time that day, and the smile on his face, is something that I will never forget.

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

The MONTGOMERY gown with the overskirt was perfect! I couldn’t decide what kind of dress I wanted and this truly had it all. As soon as I tried it on, I fell in love with it, and the fact that I could have two looks for my wedding day. I loved wearing the MONTGOMERY gown with the overskirt for the ceremony and surprising guests at the reception when I took it off and had just the gown!

What stockist did you get it from?

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

For me, the most memorable part of our day was kissing Mark at the altar and having the biggest smiles on our faces as we saw all of our family and friends in the crowd. It was such an amazing feeling to finally have our family and friends together in one place. It was perfect!
