Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

The first time we met was at a Harding meet and greet, but it wasn’t until the next summer when I attended a church camp put on by David’s church that we really connected. We had the time of our lives that week! After camp, a group of us hung out almost every night the rest of that summer. A few summers later, David and I began hanging out again. We really enjoyed each other’s company, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up, so I continued to convince myself that we were just friends. During that summer, David would frequently visit the campground where my family was staying and when he stayed with me one day when I was sick in the camper, I really put pieces together that we had feelings for each other. We continued hanging out the rest of the summer and that was just the beginning of our story.

How did he put a ring on it?

David completely surprised me with a proposal on October 23, 2020! His family was coming to town, and he told me we were all going out to dinner that night to celebrate getting a court date for his sister’s adoption, so he said to put on a cute outfit and meet him at his house. When I went round to his house, he said he had something to show me in the backyard, and took my hand. He, with the help of his sweet friends, had set up rose petals, string lights, candles, and a blanket. He led me down the path, and it wasn’t until he started talking that I realized what was happening. I was so excited and over the moon! Then we went to an engagement party where he had coordinated both of our families to be there with our closest friends to celebrate this sweet day!

Where did you draw inspiration from?

I drew wedding inspiration mainly from Pinterest and all my childhood dreams! Honestly, all of my vendors helped navigate my ideas amazingly to create a gorgeous wedding.

What made the wedding personal to you?

We had my preacher marry us, and he made it so personal and unique to us. Also, the florals really were everything I had dreamed of and more, and that was a very personal, thoughtful touch to allow my personality to shine through on our wedding day. And before leaving my dressing room, when my dad came to get me, he gave me my grandfathers’ handkerchief to carry; he passed away a year and a half ago, so that really was so sweet and special, and something I will never forget.

What were you most nervous or excited about?

Honestly, I was super calm and just so ready to be with David and get married! After my bridesmaids and I were finished getting ready, we watched “Wedding Wars” and just chilled.

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

My beautiful dress – I loved it so much that I put it on four times when I picked it out! When I wore FLOR for the first time, my mom cried, and my sister cried. I allowed my mom, mother-in-law, sister, closest friend, and my two grandmothers to see my dress before the wedding day, and that was it. FLOR was the perfect dress for me, and I will always love every floral, lace, and tulle detail!

What stockist did you get it from?

Emerson Bridal, TN

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

The moment David saw me walk down the aisle and he just melted! We also wrote each other notes and read them to each other after the ceremony with just the two of us and our photographer, and that was the purest, most loving, and genuine way for us to personalize such a special day.
