Sabrina & Jimmy’s Wedding

Sabrina & Jimmy’s wedding was an intimate ceremony on the breathtaking beaches of Cabo with a backdrop of white sand, crystal clear water and a dreamy sunset.

Of her GIULETTA gown, Sabrina said: “It was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a gown that was beachy, but romantic and comfortable enough to eat, drink, and dance in. I got so many compliments on my dress, and finally getting to wear it after waiting so long made it feel even more special.”

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

I’ve known Jimmy since I was about ten years old! He was always just one of my brother’s friends that would come over to our house all the time to play Mario Kart or Monopoly, and made me laugh. I never saw him as anything more until he asked if I wanted to carpool to nursing school classes in college. During the carpools, we realized how much we had in common and how we had similar upbringings, a love for travel and food, and the same goofy sense of humor. When I became single the summer of 2015, he asked me out on a date on June 22nd and I quickly realized the perfect guy for me had been standing right in front of me all along!

How did he put a ring on it?

Fast forward to December of 2018, Jimmy took me on a surprise staycation down on the Las Vegas strip for what I thought was a belated birthday celebration. We are both nurses and had been working opposite shifts at our hospitals so we hadn’t had a chance to celebrate together. After an incredible meal overlooking the city and a Vegas show, he had a “birthday gift” on his laptop back at the room. He had spent days putting together the sweetest video of all our travel adventures together to our favorite songs. He got down on one knee and I could barely hear him propose over the sound of my happy crying! I didn’t see it coming at all, and I somehow managed to say “of course” between happy tears.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

We knew we wanted to get married on the beach so Cabo seemed like a perfect fit! We kept the decor minimal to highlight the beautiful view in Cabo, and I wanted everyone to be comfortable. We kept the dress code very casual and we let the bridal party choose their own outfits which gave the whole wedding a very relaxed and fun vibe.

What made the wedding personal to you?

We looked at venues in town and considered having a traditional wedding, but with us both having huge extended families, we decided we wanted to keep it intimate. We fell in love with the idea of a small destination wedding with immediate families and best friends only.

What were you most nervous or excited about?

I was most nervous about not having planned enough! I might be the least organized bride ever and was maybe a little too relaxed about planning. For example: I forgot my wedding dress at home!! If it weren’t for my brother-in-law bringing it to Cabo from our home in Vegas, I might not have been wearing my gorgeous Tara Lauren gown at all. It all ended up being perfect. Me forgetting my gown made for a hilarious joke for the whole trip and made it into most of the wedding speeches!

Having to postpone the wedding for a year due to the pandemic, I was most excited to finally marry Jimmy! We felt like we would never be able to have this special day with the people most important to us and it was well worth the wait. It truly was the best day, and week, of our lives and everyone had so much fun.

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

I had tried on dresses at two other bridal shops but nothing compared to the experience at Grey Pearl, and the gorgeous GIULETTA gown by Tara Lauren. It was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a gown that was beachy, but romantic and comfortable enough to eat, drink, and dance in. I didn’t leave the dance floor except to sneak a bite or two of wedding cake, and then it was right back to dancing. I got so many compliments on my dress and finally getting to wear it after waiting so long made it feel even more special! Thank you for creating the dress of my dreams.

What stockist did you get it from?

Grey Pearl, NV

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

It’s so hard to choose, but my favorite memory was probably our first dance. Finally getting to share an intimate moment with such a beautiful sunset was unforgettable and they’re probably my favorite pictures to look back on!
