Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
Ryan and I met through mutual friends at a fraternity party! I was only 20 years old when we met and Ryan was 21 and we were so compatible so we instantly clicked. Once we started dating, I was at California State University in Monterey Bay and he was attending San Jose State University. We had to do long distance for our first year and a half of dating, but we drove back and forth at any chance we could to see each other, even if it was just for one day.
How did he put a ring on it?
We had been dating for about four and a half years when Ryan popped the question! We spent the day getting lunch in Monterey and decided to go to the beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea. We were looking out at the ocean and passing the time before our dinner reservations when Ryan started going into a speech about how much I mean to him and how much he loves me – then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
Where did you draw inspiration from?
Pinterest was my best friend throughout the entire wedding planning process! Ryan and I were all over the place in regards to wedding inspiration and what we wanted the day to look like. I knew I wanted to keep it classic with simple decor, but still romantic and elegant. Pinterest really just helps you see your ideas in real life examples which I loved.
What made the wedding personal to you?
We incorporated our favorite signature cocktails at our bar to give it a more personal feel. We also did a bride and groom surprise reception entrance dance to “Feelin’ Myself” by Mac Dre! I am a dancer, so I knew I needed to incorporate dance in there somewhere and luckily Ryan was on board because he loves to dance also!
What were you most nervous or excited about?
I was so nervous for my processional entrance! I walked down a grand staircase before I met my Dad and Step Dad at the bottom to walk me down the aisle which was both empowering and nerve-wracking!
Now, the most important part – the Dress!
Tell us about your dress?
GIULETTA was perfect. I knew I wanted a slit and lace details on my dress so I only tried on 5 gowns before saying yes to GIULETTA. When you know, you know!
What stockist did you get it from?
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
The most memorable moment for me was our first look! We were both so excited to finally see each other and calm our nerves. We both were talking about how we weren’t sure if we were going to cry or if our adrenaline was going to get in the way. Once I was walking down the aisle, we were both bawling our eyes out! It was truly an emotional processional and start to the ceremony.
