Megan & Tommy’s Wedding

Megan & Tommy’s wedding was reminiscent of a fun garden party with games of cornhole and a wood fired pizza oven.

Of her ISOLDE gown by Tara Lauren, Megan said: “ISOLDE hit so many things that I was looking for – gorgeous, intricate details with a more bohemian, laidback vibe that still felt like the most special dress that I had ever seen.”

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

Tommy & I went to the same high school but never really crossed paths. A few years after we graduated, he slid into my DM’s, and the rest was history!

How did he put a ring on it?

In 2018, we bought my grandparents’ home, where I had so many fond memories growing up. Tommy and his dad renovated our home from the ground up over almost 2 years. In 2019, my friends and I were out for a day of shopping, and they wanted to check in on our remodel progress. When I arrived at the house, Tommy was waiting in the unfinished living room with candles and flowers, and he popped the question! It really meant so much for it to happen in a place that already held so many great memories, and where we knew we’d make so many more as we built our lives together.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

When thinking about our wedding, we wanted it to feel more like a fun party than a formal wedding. We tried to think of the things that we both genuinely love and made a point to incorporate them – Tommy loves cornhole and cigars, so we made sure to have both there, and I love pizza so we had a wood-fired pizza oven arrive for late night eats!

What made the wedding personal to you?

Our family friend, Bret, who really knows us as a couple, was our officiant. We also included our cats, Pizza and Helen on our cocktail napkins!

What were you most nervous or excited about?

We were definitely most nervous about COVID. As any COVID bride can tell you, wedding planning in this time has always felt one step away from catastrophe. Luckily, our safety precautions leading up to, and at the wedding, made it a safe party for all!

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

ISOLDE hit so many things that I was looking for in a wedding dress – gorgeous, intricate details with a more bohemian, laidback vibe that still felt like the most special dress that I’ve ever seen. The deep V neck and bodice needed to be highlighted, so I went with my hair back in a party pony with pearls woven through. I was so comfortable on our 100-degree August wedding day!

What stockist did you get it from?

Lovely Bride, NYC. When I described what I was looking for, they knew I would be a Tara Lauren bride right away!

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

Our first look. There’s something so special about taking a few minutes by yourselves before the craziness of the day sets in! They’re also some of my favorite pictures of the day.
