Julia & Evangelos’ Wedding

One look was all it took for him to fall in love at his family’s Greek restaurant in Wiesbaden, Germany. Julia & Evangelos made their vows at an intimate ceremony under the dusty blue skies of Korfu, Greece.

Of her RYDELLE gown, Julia said: “I was looking for something special, preferably with puffy sleeves and a corset, and found my dress at “You Are Main“ in Frankfurt. Me and both of my maid of honors had an appointment there after we had a very disappointing one in another store, and this dress just popped into our eyes. It was quite clear to each of us that it had to be THIS ONE. Even though it was over 30 degrees celsius on our wedding day I had no trouble wearing it. ”

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

My husband was working in his family’s Greek restaurant in our hometown of Wiesbaden in Germany. One day after work a friend took me there to have a glass of wine. That’s how we met. He said he fell in love at first sight, it took me three years of “friendship“ to realize that though.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

Mostly Pinterest! I guess that’s what every bride would answer to this question haha! I picked the color palette based on what connects us to Evangelos’ home country of Greece, which was a dusty blue like the sky and sea, and sage green such as olive leaves. The rest was mostly white and cream, with minimalistic golden details to give it a fancy and young vibe.

What made the wedding personal to you?

There are several things; we spent a whole week in the location with our closest family, which was very special because usually you wouldn’t get them all in one place at the same time. We worked very hard for every little detail and paid for everything by ourselves. Also 90% of the guests flew from Germany and other countries to Greece so most of them combined our wedding with a little holiday in Korfu. This made it feel like living in a little summer bubble for one to two weeks with our wedding being the cherry on top.

What were you most nervous or excited about?

Probably if everything would work out the way I planned it. With me being a true perfectionist, it was hard for me to throw some plans overboard spontaneously. Also, with one and a half years of planning it was crazy to see everything we visualized becoming reality. I just couldn’t believe it. My whole body was literally shaking before the ceremony.

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

I wore a beautiful Tara Lauren Gown. I was looking for something special, preferably with puffy sleeves and a corset, and found my dress at “You Are Main“ in Frankfurt. Me and both of my maid of honors had an appointment there after we had a very disappointing one in another store, and this dress just popped into our eyes. It was quite clear to each of us that it had to be THIS ONE. Even though it was over 30 degrees celsius on our wedding day I had no trouble wearing it.

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

I love looking back on how loads of the guests (and us!) jumped all together into the big salt water pool.  All dressed up during the party! After that we all danced together through the warm summer night and starry night sky, soaking wet and happy.
