Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

Our love story started how every modern one does … on Bumble! But it wasn’t that easy. A few months after getting to know each other, Josh was supposed to move to Texas for work so we had decided to call things off. A few months later, he was still in town and that project kept getting delayed so we gave things another shot. The project was eventually scrapped, we both stayed in town and the rest is history.

How Did He Put A Ring On It?

He put a bandana on our dog that said “Will you marry my dad?” and got down on one knee in our kitchen. It was just the two of us and so perfect.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

I wanted an airy, whimsical garden theme that was sparked by seeing work my florist had done. And I couldn’t afford to do the wedding at the local botanical garden so I brought the garden indoors.

What made the wedding personal to you?

Planning and designing most of it myself. It was so amazing to see my vision and hard work of almost 2 years come to life!

What were you most nervous or excited about?

I was anxious about Josh seeing me for the first time in my dress! He’s my best friend and I tell him everything so to not show him something for over a year was HARD. I knew he’d like anything I had on, but there was something that felt so important about our first look and my heart was beating out of my chest until the second he turned around.

I purchased my wedding dress from Rhylan Lang Bridal in Omaha, Nebraska.

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

I hate public speaking so we read our vows to each other before the ceremony. Besides our photographer and videographer who quietly captured the moment, it was just us, which allowed us to be raw and real in a way that I don’t think I would have quite felt standing in front of 200+ people. It was the perfect moment just to ourselves on the otherwise hectic day.
