Naomi & Chris’s Wedding

Set against the enchanting backdrop of Darver Castle in Ireland, Naomi Wright and Chris Wright’s love story unfolds with simplicity and charm. From their initial Snapchat connection to a proposal on a rainy November morning, their journey exudes happy coincidences. With a nod to Ireland’s greenery, Chris’s velvet blazer inspired the wedding’s elegant theme, making it a celebration both timeless and distinctly Irish.

Of her MARINA gown, Naomi said: “I always knew I wanted a crepe dress with sleeves of some kind. Marina caught my mums eye as soon as we entered the room! The delicate floral detail on the sleeves were what initially caught my attention when my mum picked it off the hanger. The open back, stunning train and silhouette design had me speechless! It was the perfect combination: unique, modern and romantic!”

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

He added me on Snapchat (how romantic), we have talked every single day since! Our first date was to the cinema to watch American sniper!

How Did He Put A Ring On It?

It was a very cold and wet November morning and he had suggested going to my favourite beach. I wouldn’t go because of the weather and said that we should go to ikea to look at wardrobes. He called me into the living room to look at something and there he was, down on one knee! We often laugh about it as it wasn’t the proposal Chris had planned but I loved it! He had already booked a night away the next day to continue the celebrations!

Where did you draw inspiration from?

I always knew I wanted a very simple and elegant style wedding, less is more in my opinion. Initially we were going to go with a complete monochrome theme but we both fell in love with Chris green velvet blazer from the moment he tried it on! It was perfect for the time of year. We added gold writing to our invitations to incorporate that festive feeling. I drew inspiration from Pinterest and many pages on Instagram.

What made the wedding personal to you?

Many guests commented on how personal our ceremony was. We had 100 of our nearest and dearest surrounding us in Chris’ family church. We were married by our Minister Peter Munce, who we had got to know very well through marriage preparation classes. We have a fabulous acoustic group ‘The Bella Caves’ play our favourite acoustic music during our ceremony. Chris picked the classic ‘thousand years’ instrumental for me to walk up the isle too and it was perfect.

What were you most nervous or excited about?

I was excited for it all! I was a bit nervous the morning of the wedding but my bridesmaids and mum were amazing and we had such a fun morning! Speeches are always one of my favourite parts of any wedding so I was very excited about those – I loved them and can’t wait to see our video!

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

I always knew I wanted a crepe dress with sleeves of some kind. Marina caught my mums eye as soon as we entered the room! The delicate floral detail on the sleeves were what initially caught my attention when my mum picked it off the hanger. The open back, stunning train and silhouette design had me speechless! It was the perfect combination: unique, modern and romantic!

What stockist did you get it from?

Ivory and Pearl!

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

It really is true when they said your wedding day goes by in a flash! I loved every moment of our day from the second I woke up that morning. My favourite moment will always be seeing Chris grinning at the top of the isle!
