Kimberly & Matthew’s Wedding

In a world of online connections, Kimberly Wilson and Matthew Colbert’s love story blossomed on Bumble. From a first date that lingered until the restaurant closed to a surprise seaside proposal, their journey led them to a picturesque Newport wedding at The Eisenhower House. As the sun graced their intimate celebration, Kimberly donned “The Corinne” from Tulle in Andover, creating memories that ranged from dress joy to a comical wine mishap.

Of her CORINNE gown, Kimberly said: A gorgeous square neck top with boning details. Buttons down the back. So comfortable & light weight. Simple, elegant and CLASSIC. Honestly, it was so out of my comfort zone of what i was trying on. I was trying a lot of tulle & beading etc. One of the shop owners actually suggested I try and on and that was that!!! I had my 4 bridesmaids with me and we all knew it was the one. I’ll never forget that feeling!

Tell Us Your Love Story

How did you meet?

It was a May afternoon, the first flowers were beginning to bloom and the buzzing of bees swarmed the warm air. Sitting on a patio indulging in the warmth of the day, I sipped on a glass of rosé and contemplated my love life. I swiped those thoughts aside, when out of nowhere this man swarmed in and knocked me off my feet.

Okay so, maybe this didn’t all happen literally – but In the realm of online dating. Okay, yeah we met on Bumble.

Our first date IRL –  we met for drinks, and were so caught up in each other that we closed down the restaurant, neither of us wanting the night to end! So – we got married so we could have nights like this for the rest of our lives

How Did He Put A Ring On It?

Beautiful Sunny September afternoon. He took me out on a date and stopped at one of our favorite spots to take in the coastline and go for a walk on nice days – Jenness Beach in Rye NH. Afterwards we had lunch and bubbly at a new rooftop bar – the surprises didn’t end there! We drove home and as we were walking in I saw that all of my closest family and friends were gathered outside with balloons, decor, (more bubbly of course) and was TOTALLY surprised.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

Pinterest, tons of IG accounts (specifically, @CaratsandCake, @thebirdaljourney). I wanted Classic and elegant with a hint of “old money – new england”

What made the wedding personal to you?

The size for sure. It was tough to narrow down our list, but we really wanted something super intimate where we were able to spend time with everyone (especially each other) and enjoy all the fun of the day!

What were you most nervous or excited about?

Oh my god – Nervous, about the weather!!! So so stressed – if we had to move the ceremony inside, it was nothing like what i had envisioned AND not everyone could fit comfortably so there would have been some tough calls to make. It was literally thundering and storming the morning I woke up and i was full of anxiety. We had some rain and storms throughout the morning and by some karma the sun came out for the entire portion of the wedding!!!!

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

The Corinne! A gorgeous square neck top with boning details.

What stockist did you get it from?

Tulle in Andover!

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

My Husband going to take a sip of the nice RED wine we had saved aside for our wedding – hitting his plate and it SPLASHING ALL OVER HIM…. while i was sitting right next to him. Of course, immediate panic set – I looked at him, (covered), looked down at me – NOTHING!!! So then decided it was perfectly acceptable to laugh at him because my dress was SOMEHOW saved hahaha. Luckily we had an extra shirt
