How did you meet?

We officially met in 7th grade at a mutual friends 13th birthday party. Immediately after meeting I asked another friend for Jakes phone number. We began texting and hanging out all the time. We’ve been together ever since!

How did he put a ring in it?

In 2018 we decided to take a trip to Disney World together, it was both of our first times being there. On the second day of our trip, at Magic Kingdom, we were getting a photo in front of the castle and he got down on one knee and popped the question!

Where did you draw inspiration from?

We both really wanted our wedding to be casual and fun but still classy. We originally planned a more formal ceremony but due to COVID restrictions we ended up going for a short non-religious ceremony in my fathers backyard. It was perfect and exactly what we were hoping for.

What made the wedding personal to you?

We originally planned a larger wedding but due to COVID-19 we decided to change our plans completely. Our wedding was very personal since it was at my fathers home where I spent many years of my life. My mother passed away 4 years ago, and not having her at my wedding was extremely hard. Being at her home where we have so many great memories together made me feel like she was there celebrating with us.

We also had to downsize our guest list which was extremely difficult to do because we would’ve liked for family members that we haven’t seen in a long time to be able to attend but we ended up having only our closest family and friends there which was nice.

What we’re you most nervous or excited about?

I was excited to finally be marrying my love for the past 11 years. We waited so long for that day and we weren’t going to let anything ruin that for us. I was nervous that since we did have such an intimate wedding that our guests wouldn’t have as much fun as they would if it were a larger wedding, but everyone seemed to have a great time.

Now, the most important part – the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?

I instantly fell in love with Farrow as soon as I put the dress on. It hugged my body perfectly in all the right places. The long train and the lace are so elegant but the nude color I went with gave it a more casual feel which is exactly what I was going for.

What stockist did you get it from?

I got my dress from Vow Floral + Formal in Clarks Summit, PA.

What was the most memorable moment from your day?

Oh gosh, there are so many moments from that day that I will remember forever. One that really stands out is as everyone was sitting down enjoying their dinner, my new husband and I sat at our table together, just watching everyone enjoying themselves. This year has been so dark, it was nice to see everyone we love smiling and talking together about how great the food was and how beautiful the ceremony was. It made all the stress from planning and replanning our wedding all worth it.
